Macclesfield Landcare will be running a frog bog workshop with David de Angelis, naturalist, environmental educator and zoological consultant with a particular interest in the conservation and ecology of frogs and reptiles. The workshop will focus on learning how to create your own frog habitats, including a practical demonstration of how to set up a suitable pond, dam or wetland. David will also discuss habitat furnishing and landscaping using indigenous plants, as well as recent advances in understanding the habitat preferences of local frogs, and how this can be used to better inform how we create ponds and terrestrial habitat for them. We will then continue working on the newly-constructed frog bogs at the school.
So come along to learn all about creating your own frog bog and how we can help frogs thrive in our backyards, and of course, to enjoy some fascinating conversations with other frog enthusiasts.
